Western Rampart (2018) by SUPERFLEX is presented as an extension of the exhibition Superfake / The Parley, on display until April 30 at AYER’s facilities. This exhibition examines issues of authenticity, reproduction, and value through an analysis of a painting from the collection of the Arizona State University Art Museum, based in Tempe, USA.

Sala Abierta is an intangible space that is part of the galleries at the MAZ.

SUPERFLEX was founded in 1993 by Jakob Fenger, Bjørnstjerne Christiansen, and Rasmus Rosengren Nielsen. Conceived as an expanded collective, SUPERFLEX has consistently worked with a wide variety of collaborators, from gardeners to engineers to audience members. Engaging with alternative models for the creation of social and economic organization, works have taken the form of energy systems, beverages, sculptures, copies, hypnosis sessions, infrastructure, paintings, plant nurseries, contracts, and public spaces.

Among the group’s public commissions are “Oil Fountain,” 2012, in Haugesund, Norway; “Superkilen,” 2011, in Copenhagen; and “Contract: 2000 Watt Society,” 2010, in Zurich, Switzerland, Power Toilets/UN,” 2010, in Heerhugowaard, Netherlands.

AYER is a space for thinking with the moving image. A self-managed, non-profit project that serves as a new platform for showcasing video projects in Guadalajara, Mexico.
