Industrial Symphony in Two Movements is a group exhibition unfolding in two chapters: the first at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ), in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, Mexico, and the second at Friche la Belle de Mai, in Marseille, France. The project is framed within the bicentennial of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2026.

The project brings together more than twenty artists connected to one or both countries, whose practices span the visual and sonic arts, architecture, and performance, proposing a contemporary dialogue on the cultural ties between Mexico and France.

Inspired by the atmosphere of David Lynch’s musical Industrial Symphony No. 1: The Dream of the Broken Hearted (1990), the exhibition builds a poetic landscape in which the industrial and the emotional intertwine. Rather than a direct reference, the atmosphere of this piece resonates throughout the exhibition as an echo, an emotional and structural pulse in which the symbols of industry become witnesses to affective fragility and broken dreams.

The exhibition is conceived as a visual score in constant transformation: as it travels from one city to another, the project adapts to each context, activating local collaborations and generating new readings.

More than an exhibition, Industrial Symphony in Two Movements is a platform for international artistic exchange that fosters collaboration, cultural mobility, and contemporary creation.
