About MAZ
The MAZ is a public contemporary art museum located in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara. It stands out for presenting temporary exhibitions of significant collections and projects specifically developed for its spaces.
Designed by architects María Emilia Orendáin and Enrique Toussaint, the Museo de Arte de Zapopan opened its doors to the public in 2002 and is the only public institution in Jalisco exclusively dedicated to contemporary art.
For the MAZ, it is important to engage and collaborate with communities and propose socially relevant exhibition themes. It leverages its lines of research to present exhibitions and organize activities that cater to the diverse interests of its visitors and participants.
Mission
To create experiences that inspire reflection, enjoyment, and learning through contemporary art, while fostering dialogue between the established and new ideas that encourage complex knowledge and independent thought.
Spaces
MAZ building’s exteriors and interiors can be used for presentations, filming and receptions.

Located in the center of the museum, the main patio is an outdoor space that has excellent natural light.
