This peculiar extract from the imaginary world of Catalina Bu unfolds outside of a linear narrative: the passage through subtle stimuli, interruptions, and references provokes a range of connections, moods, and interpretations. From this place of saturation, where the effort to make sense of anything is perceived as endless, the works generate a state of tension between observation and fatigue, between production and drift, between attention and noise.
In Screen Time, the writer and artist fictionalizes the way that the mental and emotional effects of over-exposure to digital media incessantly mold not only her processes of perception and creation, but also her very identity.
