Estudio abierto 4: Máquina del tiempo (Open Studio 4: Time Machine) proposed a mechanism to activate the construction of parallel times. Through language, Claudia Cisneros created a device whereby spectators found themselves replicated by means of narrative. The artist directed her gaze at the Other as a linguistic concept.
In the performance Retrato hablado (Spoken Portrait), visitors were the subject of a sort of dramatic chorus in the exhibition space. From an isolated booth, Claudia Cisneros observed the visitors as they moved through the room. She then narrated, through a microphone that delayed the projection of her voice for ten seconds, everything she observed of the behavior of members of the public. The action Carta abierta (Open Letter) was the result of the predictions made by the public. In a letter written from the past, the encounter with the visitor was anticipated and he or she was invited to make a prediction that would be represented a week later.
