Teresa Serrano (Mexico City, December 24, 1936)

Artist since 1978
Interdisciplinary artist – sculpture, installation, photography, performance, video.

Teresa Serrano uses narrative as a central element in her work. She creates videos that poetically analyze and express the dynamics of a patriarchal society in which women coexist today. She articulates and connects content with themes and imagery framed within Mexico’s social context and its relationship with other societies worldwide.

Through self-awareness, she seeks to generate a lingering unease in the viewer’s consciousness, prompting self-reflection on the observed behaviors.
